Post 1 For Distance Learning 4/7/20

Hello Amazing Kinder Parents,

We hope this post finds you and your family happy and healthy.  As many of you know this week teachers and staff returned to school from a distance.  Your Kinder teachers are busy at work putting together a plan that will support our distance learning in a very “flexible” way.  We know that right now things are very unsettling and that we all feel like we are juggling lots of different tasks right now.  Our aim in Kinder is to provide learning activities that are both fun and engaging.  In the next few days your teacher will send you emails to let you know about sites we will be using and how to best access those sites.

As it stands right now all Kinder teachers will be using an app called Class Dojo as a communication platform and another platform called Seesaw for teaching tasks.  Our plan is to send you emails and information updates regularly thru both email and Class Dojo.  So we ask that you check those on a regular basis.  As for Seesaw we will be using this platform for our learning tasks and activities.  Please know that any and all tasks are merely a suggestion and that nothing is mandatory.

We have attached 2 video links for Class Dojo and Seesaw that we thought might provide some information to explain these platforms to you.  Please know that you can only access these after getting an email from you teacher with codes and/or invitation link.  Be patient with us as we are learning how to utilize these as well and might make mistakes along the way.

We are excited to connect with you and your kiddos and feel that these 2 platforms are so kid friendly they’ll get excited to see what’s next.

If you have any questions or concerns please email your kinder teachers and we will try our best to answer and provide support.  We look forward to a fun learning adventure from a distance…  We got this Kinder Parents!!!

Here’s a fun video for the kiddos….

Weekly Post for 2/3

Hello Amazing Kinder Parents.

Thanks to all of the parents who donated items for our 100th Day Projects…  it truly made for a fun day indeed.

As we begin our week here are a few reminders…

  1.  Please remember that HW is always due on Monday.  When doing HW please make sure that your kiddos are completing it with support from you.  HW should be done in pencil not pen or marker.. thank you.
  2. Library Books are always due on Wed.  (Blaylock/Hickman/Booth) and Thurs. (Snyder/Yalamanchi).  If your child forgets their books please simply bring it to the office and they will give it to us…  coming to class to deliver a library book can cause a disruption in our learning/teaching time which is golden.  Thank you for respecting our learning and teaching time.
  3. As our year is motoring along we are in need of some supplies for both in the classroom as well as outside.  We have made a Wish List on Amazon to help provide an idea of items needed.    We so appreciate donations.  Thank you.                              Kinder Amazon Wish List

4.  Just a reminder that 2/14 and 2/17 are school holidays in honor of Presidents Day.

Below is the link to our weekly Kinder newsletter.  Please take a moment to click on the link to read up about all of our learning for the week.  Please note this week there is a writing topic of:  Chinese New Year.  Last week the children learned about this in class and have loads of information.  Below we have also attached a video to further help with the writing topic if needed.

Weekly Kinder Post 1/20/20

Hello Amazing Kinder Parents,

Happy New Year and Happy 2020.  As we begin our week here are a few reminders for all of you.

  1.  Just a reminder that HW packets always need to be returned on Mondays and please make sure they are complete.  It is important to remember that we need our kiddos to be completing the writing by themselves with your support for sound spelling of new words.  At this point in the school year our kiddos need to become as independent as they can and that starts with HW and Raz Kids. We have included a link to some great HW tips.

Homework Tips

  1. With our weather becoming cooler there are may jackets coming to school- please make sure they have a name written somewhere on them- so that if they do get misplaced it will be much easier to find their jacket a home.
  2. Please remember to send snacks daily-  we are no longer providing snacks for children as it is too cost prohibitive.  We are nearing 100 days in school and we sincerely hope that snacks are a part of the daily routine.  We are including a link that shared how to create a snack station for your  kiddos…Snack Station for Kids.
  3. We are nearing the 100th day of school and will soon be in need of some fun donations for our 100th day snack mix and 100th day necklaces.  Letters will ne set home this week to students asking for donations.
